The JFS kernel code is no longer maintained on this site. The code can be found in any modern kernel.org kernel. JFS can be built as a module or directly into the kernel. In the Filesystems section use the m for the answer to build JFS as a module and use y for the answer to build JFS directly into the kernel. JFS filesystem support (CONFIG_JFS_FS) [Y/m/n?] If you selected to build JFS as a module, rebuild the modules for your system. If you selected to build JFS directly into the kernel, rebuild the kernel for your system. The file system debugging messages are being written to /var/log/messages.
